Reviews from people who have not stayed at the BnB.

Ive run a B & B for 10 years, long before Air BnB came on the market and Ive always been an excellent host, judging by the wonderful feedback . Last year a stupid woman booked 2 AirBnB sites when boarding a plane from Melbourne to Adelaide. Upon arrival she choose the other place and called me for a refund. I told her to contact AirBnB as I don’t handle the finances. AirBnB then posted her review on my site: she admitted to making the “stupid mistake” and asked for a refund but “the host told her to get stuffed”. I refuted this as I DID NOT TELL HER TO GET STUFFED. However, AirBnB refused to delete this “review” from someone who did not stay at the BnB and therefore should not have the right to write a review about the BnB. Ive spoken to THREE AirBnB customer services staff and nothing has been done about. This has severely affected my status with AirBnB. I should not be punished for something which did not happen.

@Anonymous ,

I read the review, it says something different: "Was told tough luck by owner" . Also the review starts with  "Wasn't able to stay", so it's clear the guest did not actually stay at your place.

The review is about communication and how you deal with guest in such circumstances.

@AnonymousHello and I was curious about your post and the response from @Emiel1 . So I looked at your listings and reviews. I am not quite sure what you want us as hosts to get from your post. I think it is always important to write exact words used especially when using quotation marks. and clearly your almost guest didn't say anything about get stuffed??? So when I glanced at your reviews I noticed you have cancelled a couple of bookings and you also either screamed  at a guest or Airbnb...."I mean using all CAPS is called screaming your point to someone".  So doing that publicly will probably put you in a negative light with Airbnb -  Oh, and you called the woman "a stupid lady".......I'm just guessing here but that just might be part of the problem for a strained relationship with you and Airbnb.  Plus some guests look at all this stuff - atleast I do when traveling and it's not pleasant.

also, just thought of something.....if the guest had to pay for the full stay - then they should indeed get to post a review as that is part of the experience. As long as it isn't offensive or obscene I think that's kinda fair.....just my opinion.

Anyone can come on here as it is public - !!! Even guests !!!

I don't mean any of this mean spirited Roswita truly.  So you might want to think about the multiple factors that play into all this. I wish you happy hosting and all the best.  Clara
