Russian tourist with blocked card. Airbnb is not accountable

Hello,

I have a Russian tourist whose credit cards were blocked. He was only able to pay for the first month, not the second one. In this case, Airbnb will simply cancel the reservation and leave it up to me to find a solution to charge him in cash or kick him out for non-payment. Airbnb support was zero. Just a few emails inviting the tourist to pay.
*AirCover insurance has nothing to do with this kind of situation.

I expected more support for Finance Specialists and/or Customer Service.

They left me abandoned to my own fate!

@Roberto-Carlos8   Unfortunately if Airbnb are unable to get payment then you will not get paid by them.  The best thing you can do is come to another arrangement with your guest with regards to payment or ask him to leave.  You could suggest that he contact the Russian Embassy in the first instance as they should be able to advise or help repatriate him if he is unable to access any funds.   This is really tough as not all Russians support Putin, however you are not a ‘charity’ and may well rely on the income from your Airbnb.

Hi Roberto,
I am exactly in the same situation as you. I am very disappointed by the total lack of care shown by AirB&B in solving the solution. They basically told me they are not responsible for the payment (while I am the one who pointed out the delay in receiving the second payment, then they wasted a full week telling me they are "investigating", during this time my guest is in my apartment free of charge).
I have to myself ask the person to leave (I cant even ensure she will) and I will not be paid. The lack of support and responsibility from AirB&B is shocking.
Good luck
Soline
