Selling my short term business

I have sold my short term rentals and the new buyer wants to continue on with my business. I have attained super host status and the new buyer would want to continue with that. It is a simple process through VRBO - bank details get changed, email and tel numbers. I have contacted AirB&B but the customer service rep had no idea and said he would call back. Upon calling back he said my account would need to be cancelled and she would have to start a new one.

I have many bookings already in place for months to come. Surely it could be way simpler? Please share your thoughts and or experiences?

Thank you

Yolanda

@Yolanda351  On Airbnb, you can't do what you want in this regard. The new owner has to set up his own account and start from scratch. You could let him have the photos and description info if you want, but the reviews and ratings and Superhost badge stay with the original profile and aren't transferrable. Also you need to to contact all the guests and let them know it is under new management and give them the option of having their reservation cancelled with full refund if they choose. You can get Airbnb to do this for you under the extenuating circumstances policy ( you no longer own the property and you'll probably have to provide the documentation for this) so you don't get penalized for the cancellations.
