I was just contacted by a first time Airbnb traveler. She wants to book June 22-24 and asked if she could pay half the charges in April and the balance in May. I'm fairly new as a host--started in last September of last year. This is the first time I've had this request. Any suggestions?
Hello @Debbie241,
Guests pay Airbnb, they don't pay hosts directly so payment issues are something that the guest should discuss with Airbnb.
There is a pay less upfront option whereby guests pay some at confirmation time and the rest a few days before checkin. Airbnb offers this to guests at their sole discretion. If the guest doesn't see the option when they go to pay, then it's not available to them.
Steve.
Thanks, Steve.
I told her this should be a matter for Airbnb; but, I couldn't find anywhere on the site to get a concrete answer! So that brought me to this Community Center discussion. Is the "Pay Less Upfront" option strictly something that Airbnb offers? Or, is that an option I can add to my guest house site?
Hello @Debbie241,
Host's can't opt in to it. Airbnb controls when guests see the option.
Can I split the cost of my reservation across multiple payments?
Steve.
Thanks! Do you or anyone out there know if Airbnb has an actual phone number I can call when I have questions? I'm thinking there probably isn't one...
Hello @Debbie241,
Type "contact airbnb" in the "Search the community" box on these forum pages where you posted your question. Scroll down a little in the list of suggestions that appears and click on the "Contact Airbnb: A Community Help Guide[UPDATED]" one. That lists phone numbers and ways to contact them via Twitter or Facebook.
Steve.
I can't thank you enough! THANK YOU:)
