@Nicola512  Airbnb service charges can vary from about 11-25%. What they base the service charge on is anyone's guess- Airbnb won't tell anyone how they calculate it. The service charge has nothing to do with the host. That's Airbnb's fee. I don't even know how much service charge my guests pay. I am bamboozled by you saying you only charge 35 Euro. How do you have anything to do with the service fee?

You can try contacting Airbnb to find out why they are charging that much, but I doubt you'll get a satisfactory answer.

@Nicola512 honestly I, as a host, would answer in a very general manner and decline your request. My reasoning would be since you don't know how service fee is charged you probably haven't read anything else on my listing too and you wouldn't be satisfied anyway. The host doesn't even know how much you pay, they only get their price, the fee which you have questions about you are paying to Airbnb, they can explain how it is calculated. And what is high in some place can be very cheap in another. For example where I live for 75$ you can get an amazing apartment in the city center with a view for 4 people for a whole weekend. In Paris for that amount you cant even get a decent apartment for one night. Prices in Portugal and England are different depending on location, demand, what is being offered, competition and many other variables.
