Setting up short breaks on my calendar

Setting up short breaks on my calendar

Especially outside of the main holiday season I would like to revise my calendar to concentrate on 3 or 4 night short breaks. The weekend 3 night breaks would be Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. The 4 night midweek breaks would be for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.

To make the pricing simple and transparent I would charge exactly the same price for the 3 night or the 4 night stay. How could I set this up on my calendar so that guests could only arrive on a Friday or a Monday and the minimum stay was either 3 nights or 4 nights respectively? Would I also be able to set it up so that any guest wanting to stay for 7 nights would get a sustantial discount?

You're looking for a lot of specialty set ups.  They can be done - all except the 3-4 day stays being the same price.  Airbnb is set up for nightly stays and they offer the option to provide discounts at 7 days and 28 days.  You can also set up seasonal weekly prices.  You can also set up that reservations start on a certain day, but not more than one day - so you'll need to pick one if that's what you want to do.

I don't think it's really that special what I want to acheive - I want to offer guests a 3 night weekend break but if they are able to come midweek instead then they can have  a longer 4 night break for the same price. I need to fix the start days because it would not really be a weekend break if you started on say a Thursday or a Saturday. Because the weekend break starts on a Friday then the 4 day mid-week break always starts on the Monday. (I am trying to acheive a fuller occupancy level even in low season.)

I do hear what you say but am quite surprised about the inflexibility of the software. Could I perhaps get around this problem if I only listed our property as being available on Fridays for 3 day breaks. Meanwhile, husband who is a co-owner of the property, also signs up with Airbnb as a host and lists the same property under a slightly different house name but he only does 4 day breaks starting on Mondays?

Forgot to mention - just as an example we could price Friday, Saturday and Sunday at let's say £100 per night, but Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday would then be £75 per night. That way either the 3 or 4 day option would cost the guest £300 for their stay. I did not want the software to have to equalise the costs - my daily pricing would do that. I just need it just to be able to just accept 3 day stays on Fridays and 4 day stays on Mondays. I could perhaps manual sort out a discount for any guest wanting to stay for one week (unlikely in low season)

I agree it's ridulous that you can set custom prices for "weeks" but not for 3 day weekends..  air bnb are missing a trick here...

It would help if you could  add a custom discount to specific dates only...  it would be more long winded than simply allowing custom prices for specific dates but it would be a start..  As with Margaret I have different prices for weekdays and weekends but I have to price Thursday & Sunday at the same rate as Friday/Saturday to stop guests booking a Sat/Sun night (at a lower price)  rather than a Fri/Sat for example...

I have to write in my listing for guests to contact me for 3 day long weekend prices despite being on "instant book"...  not everyoe reads that far when the initial enquiry looks so expensive..
