Special Offer did not stay available for 24 hours

Hi everyone.  I made a Special Offer in response to a request.  Within the hour I had another request come through for similar dates.  Airbnb seems to have given precedence to the second request as the Special Offer is no longer available for the first guest to accept and we are still within the 24hrs that a Special Offer is supposed to be available for.  To be fair I really want to take the first equiry (plus it was for extra nights).  How can I work around this??  If I decline the second enquiry those dates will be blocked.  I am a bit peeved because Airbnb is supposed to manage things clearly so these conflicts are easy to handle ... or don't occur in the first place!

If you have IB turned on, then absolutely whoever books first, gets your listing.

 

If you wanted to make sure the first guest got priority for the dates concerned, all you had to do is tick the box to agree that other guests are blocked from booking during those 24 hours.

 

Appears you didn't. So unfortunately this one is down to you, rather than Airbnb.

Thanks for your very helpful and fast reply. 

 

I am afraid I am not aware of the box you have described - I must have missed it.  Is it part of the setting up of the Special Offer?  I set up the Special Offer using the phone app rather than a PC and can't remember seeing it.
