Storm Eunice

We have had guests staying over the weekend for three nights. They lost power for 48 hours from Friday night through to sunday afternoon but decided to stay. We gave them free fire Wood for a wood burner so they could keep warm and had a gas hob to cook by. But obviously no showers etc What sort of discount/refund should they expect? Is there

a way to claim something via air bnb ?

@Rosie222 It amazes me that people today seem to think others might pay for their bad luck. No Airbnb will not pay you anything.

With respect to the guest - Have a chat with them. At the end of the day they stayed so shouldn't get a full refund from Airbnb but customer services do random things occasionally.

Thanks Mike

@Rosie222  It's pretty much at your discretion whether to extend a partial refund. If the guests were good sports, you could offer a small rebate (say, 10% for the affected nights) as a goodwill gesture. But despite the inconvenient power loss, the guests were pretty fortunate to have a warm, cozy holiday home with a fireplace throughout a nasty widespread storm. I can hardly think of a nicer way to have spent the weekend, all things considered, so a refund is definitely not necessary.

@Rosie222 whatever you decide to do you should do it via the resolution centre. this way if the guest claims later Airbnb will see money has already been refunded.
