Hi community and Airbnb's software engineers:)
I would like to offer a bit more complex ways to define things in the calendar, but which would make a lot of scenes.
A. I have some kind of personal rule-set which I cannot just define to be made automatically: for the near 3 weeks min of 3 nights, booking 3-6 weeks before min of 5 nights, ... booking 2 months or more min 10 nights.
This makes a lot of scenes since I would like to fill up my calendar with as many long stays as possible (it is also fit to the type of my property), but not to find myself with an empty calendar.
B. Strict cancelation for longer stays. I had a guest who booked more then 2 weeks of stay but canceled exactly 5days +1hour before check in (doesn't seem like an accident if you ask me). I lost a lot over this time and had to fill it with last minute short term guests. Why cancelation policy is same for any length of stay? It is really not fair towards the host.
C. Check in and check out days: why can one define only very specific day over the week for check in and out? Hosts are people which have flexible life. Ideally, there would be a parallel calendar which you can click if you can allow this day for check in or check out. Yes/no Calendar. This comment came after trying to define the Xmas and New Years week, around any vacation, every time my co-host and my cleaning person is changing, ect...
D. Changing a rule set for different pricing... Very basic thing which is currently impossible.
What do you think, and calendar changes you wish to have?
