We recently started to host our log cabin. Our 2nd guests said they had an amazing weekend when they checked out. I prompt left a review for them. We didn't get a review back even after sending a kind message to ask politely if they would leave us one. After 14 days they didn't left a review which didn't bother me until I realised on my Superhost stats I had 66% for reviews left when I have 100%. It was the guest that didn't leave a review & I have no power to make them. Seems wrong.
Is is there anything I can do about it as I have reviewed 100% of guests that have stayed with us?
Yes, but that is the way it works, @Robin512 . It doesn't matter how many guests you review. It is how many of them have reviewed you that counts for those stats. Drives me crazy, too, but that's how they do it.
@Robin512 We started hosting last summer, and already, I am so over AIRBNB's rating and review system (and a lot of their misguided policies, for that matter). The best advice I can give you is not to sweat it. At first, I literally obsessed and worried about getting reviews which was just putting undue stress on me. Now I will write a review only if the guest writes one first. Done. Very simple. Go earn your money and don't play Airbnb's "game" any more than you have to. Happy Hosting, Robin! 🙂
"Go earn your money and don't play Airbnb's game any more than you have to"
Probably the best piece of advice anyone could ever give to any Airbnb host! Most small hosts, unfortunately, won't heed it though and will get sucked into the infernal review/ratings/superhost obsession cycle, which is exactly how Airbnb continues to get away with sh*tting on its "community" from a great height. Sad, but true.
