Suspicion of more guests than the reservations

Last night a guest who booked for one person stayed the night with two. Tonight, my new guest just showed up, the reservation is for one, and there are two adults and a child. I charge an extra $5 per person, but it seems I keep getting duped. What should I do?

I would scrap your extra guests charges and have a flat rate. When guests think they have to pay extra they will always try to get round it!

@Frank702 I often write a welcome message after a guest is booked and ask the guest to confirm the total number of guests in the booking. If you just charge $5 more, you can add that in your listing price as mentioned by @Alexandra805
