Tax rates in India

Hi, In India the tax rates are now reduced then why is Airbnb charging the olde tax rates. All the other sites have updated the tax, when is airbnb planning to do the same.

"The council rejigged tax rates for hotels to help achieve the targeted expansion in the tourism industry. Hotels with room tariffs of up to Rs 1,000 need not pay any GST. For those with tariffs of Rs 1,001-7,500, the tax will be 12%, and for those offering rooms at more than Rs 7,500 a night, the levy will be 18%.

But even now airbnb is charging 18% on below 7500 which should be 12% making it more attractive to guest. Please sync up your tax policy.

isnt Airbnb suppose to reduce the tax. For my listing the rentals are around 3500 and been charged a tax rates of 18% approx. Also dont you think Airbnb need to return the tax to us/guests  for earlier bookings as well.

cheers

Ashwani
