The special offer price is different from what the guest is actually paying

So I had a bit of back and forth with this guest and ultimately agreed to send him a special offer with a lower/better price than my standard rate. All fair and square but when the guest actually reserved, the final price is EVEN LOWER from what I sent in the special offer. How come? Where did I go wrong? See the two screenshots which illustrate what I mean:

I have started taking screenshots of special offers and then compare them to the actual price. For some of our more expensive properties the difference has been as much as $300 per booking. As other hosts have pointed out, when bringing this to Airbnb's attention, they acknowledge the mistake and usually pay out the difference. It sucks that we have to do this extra step but at least Airbnb is honoring the price it is "supposed" to be and pay me whatever is missing.
