Total quoted to guest is not what rates reflect

I just booked a Property that  is listed for $135 per night for 5 guests.  For guests over  5, the site reads $15 per person per night up to 15. There are 14 beds in the property.  I requested, then booked a reservation for 7 guests ($165 per nite).  When I asked what the charge would be if we needed to add additonal guests the host told me the price would double for even 1 guest over the seven! So 8- 15 guests would double the price.  I  quote his message below;

"No, if you have 1 - 7 people is $165 And if you have 8 - 15 people is $330"

 What he is quoting me that is contrary to his listing.  He has  a strict cancellation policy.  What are my options here? I'd like to cancel with him, unless I misunderstood the listing.

Thank you in advance,

@Lorrie3 he cannot add any extra charges outside of what is listed in his listing. If the reservation is confirmed, you can check the reservation confirmation email from airbnb to see the breakdown of the total price. Whatever you see there should be what you are paying. It does not matter what he says because everything goes automatically in the system and airbnb does an automated calculation with tax and fees based on the listing. You can always contact airbnb to get clarification.
