I received an email saying there was an issue with my government ID not being the same as the name on my account. I immediately sent a photo of my government ID. The one they had was from the former host of the properties that I took over from in 2013. I am a Superhost with over 600 reviews, which of course I don't want to lose. I'm so worried they will cancel my future reservations- I am losing my trust in Airbnb.
Calling the Superhost call center does no good, although they try and can see all the multiple emails I have sent they have no way of correcting my account.
Can anyone help me? I have done nothing wrong- but can't get anyone on the phone that has the power to help.
I may be misunderstanding you, @Julie503 , but it sounds like you are saying you took over that former host's profile, and in that case you did do something wrong. Did you? Did you just change the name on the profile in order to keep the former host's reviews? If so, that will be the problem. Profiles stay with the person, not the property.
I gave them all my information, including my government ID. I also have traveled and used Airbnb and I haven't had any mistaking of who I was.
@Julie503 It looks like @Lawrene0 is right. If you take over an airbnb property, you most likely have to open a new account under your own name and start over with reviews, etc...
Here's another forum that goes over it:

But, @Julie503 , you did take over that other profile, right? That's the only way they would have someone else's ID on your file. I know you have given them your own ID, but the fact that the profile belonged to one person who then "became" another person is what I think is causing the problem. It didn't catch up with you until now, but it was never right.
I'm sure you can see why they have to take it seriously.
Not judging here. I completely understand why you did it - anyone who takes over a well-reviewed property wants those reviews - but it was breaking the rules.
@Julie503 unfortunately, transferring an account from one person to another is a violation of Airbnb's terms of service. Hopefully you can find a human being at CS who will understand it was an unintentional error and reinstate your account. Good luck.
Totally unintentional! So at this point I'm just wanting to make sure my future guests are going to have a place to stay. I've been at this for 6 years now- I really have always had the best intentions of being the best host possible, never tried to fool any one. Should I contact future reservations and let them know they may be cancelled? Switch to another short term company? If I could talk to someone who could do something it would be good.
@Julie503 if you haven't already, download all your pending reservations in CSV format so you can contact them if Airbnb cancels their reservations. Yes, due to so many reported similar instances it is best not to carry all your eggs in the Airbnb basket. Unfortunately we're just fellow hosts who can't actually do anything for you. You might try public contact on Facebook and Twitter.
