Two problems with AirBNB messaging for hosts.

Two problems with AirBNB messaging for hosts.

hi,

I will post one complaint about the new messaging feature and one bug.  I wish I could contact AirBNB directly, but no email and no chat support means I cannot submit my feedback.  The phone support is painful.

First, when I send my guests instructions for my home, I am now asked to verify I am not including contact information.  "You can’t include contact details in a message before an accepted reservation. You’ll need to remove the highlighted phone number before sending this message."  Umm. Of course I'm going to include contact information.  This means I now must click 3 times before my message is sent to my guest.

Second, when I message guests from the app, it goes to their mobile app and their email.  If I message from my desktop, it only goes to their inbox on their email.  It will not show up in their app.  This bug started in the past 3 weeks only.  I have been messaging in this consistent manner for 15 months, then suddenly, my guests are all complaining that they get messages on email only.  If the app supported saved messages, I could reasonably use only the mobile app.  Unfortunately, it does not support saved messages.

Airbnb censors out any contact info before the reservation is confirmed because they don't want people to make arrangements outside of Airbnb. Yeah, it's kind of a pain, but there is a solid reason for them to do so.

You can provide feedback here:

Contact information is being censored out even for reservations that have been confirmed.
