UK citizen based in London looking to start hosting an apartment in Portugal

Hi there, hoping someone can help. My family has a 1 bedroom apartment in the Algarve which we've used as a holiday home for the last 20 years or so. We're now looking to list it Airbnb so I've started to research how to get started. It looks like a recent law was passed meaning we'd have to register it as a Alojamento Local so wanted to ask if there's anyone hear who's gone through that process and could take me through their experience, what's involved and how long it takes to get registered. And also anything else I should be aware of with local legislation, tax, etc.
