UK tax.

I have a self contained annex at the bottom of the garden which I use as Airbnb accommodation.  It is away from the main house but uses the same utilities as the main house ie water and electricity.  I need to declare income to HMRC but don’t know what to class it as or what I can claim for.  Can anyone with similar please enlighten me as to what they do?  Thank you.

@Vanessa817 If you are operating legallyfor council tax then the property will be registered for business rates and then the Furnished Holiday Let designation will allow you to offset many items (including mortgage interest) and allow you to direct the income to either owner if you jointly own the property.

If it is not set up properly then who knows.....
