I CANNOT UNBLOCK MY DATES after a cancelled booking. It was my first experience of the instant book facility and the rates had not been updated for Christmas '16.
The booking is now marked cancelled by guest but the dates are still blocked. I have searched for a couple of hours trying to get in touch with Airbnb but don't have 'enough privilages' . How do I get in touch with Airbnb to get these high season dates UNBLOCKED? THERE must be someway to get a message through to them?
Hi @Rose13,
Yes, I believe you will need to call Airbnb as it looks like YOU cancelled the reservation. I am not sure if they will be able to help you as you can only cancel Instant Book bookings if you feel uncomfortable with the guest and not for errors in rates which this appears to be.
"Hosts who use Instant Book may be able to cancel up to 3 times, penalty-free, if they have concerns about a guest’s behavior. Calendar inaccuracy, confusion about pricing or availability, and extenuating circumstances are not covered by this policy." - Airbnb
Here is how you can contact Airbnb: https://community.airbnb.com/t5/Tips-Tricks/Contact-Airbnb-A-How-To-Guide/m-p/16165#M728
Good luck!

If you need to contact Airbnb, this question has been asked and answered before. The search function does work.

If you had not cancelled this booking you would have been paid at your cheaper tarif but you would have been paid. Now that you have cancelled it the dates have been blocked in accordance with airbnb policy so now no one can book them.
HI Rose,
did you manage to resolve this? i have just had the same problem and cannot send a quote to a new guest as my calender is blocked for the cancelled reservation dates:(
pls help!!??
@Michael414, because you cancelled a reservation, you cannot unblock the dates for another guest. That's one of the penalties imposed by AirBnB.

That is ridiculous. They should not take such liberties with peoples schedules!
Cool Ill list it on another site
the restrictions on airbnb are out of control
I am having the same trouble. I am new to instant book and thought I had turned it off. I need to have more control than that. For the only week during the high season that we require a weekly rental, a guest inquired nearly a year in advance for a shorter stay. When I promptly wrote back that we require a weekly rental, they said no and wouldn't cancel at their end. I canceled. Not only is my calendar blocked now, but Superhost status was rescinded over this instant book snaffu.
Hi
If you read through information about how BNB works from a hosts perspective on their website you will see it covers how Instant Book works and what happens if a host cancels.
It might be worth putting your listing on hold (snooze) until you are confident that you are familiar with how it works.
BNB penalise hosts who cancel as it is bad for guests and their reputation. You will get a financial penalty and they block out the dates as you have indicated you aren't available for bookings by cancelling a guest.
However give them a call explain you are a new host and see if they might be lenient. (use the search function here or Google if you don't have the number)
There are huge problems with this arcane policy. Sometimes I want to have a minimum number of days or rates for one part of the year and difference for another part of the year. If I don't change it quickly after a booking I can get someone booking in advance using the wrong criteria and I have to ask them to cancel, which they never mind doing and yet airbnb will still penalize me. You have to watch everything and it is really easy to make an error, especially since their own blocking and avaialbility functions are often very very glitchy and I think I have blocked something off, but it does the opposite. Owners should NOT, NOT be penalized. I am wondering what Airbnb is doing except pissing people off with this.
HI I so am in the same position and would very much need to call - cant email or contact BNB as a hots?
did you get a number you could share?
