Verification pending for a guest which is holding up another reservation

Hi Guys,

Two people tried to book my place at the same time - the first person is now showing as ''verification pending'' although i want the other person to stay who is booking longer and requested earlier than the first.

It states the ''verification pending '' which has temporarily blocked my calendar for the other guest to book will expire in 12 hours but it has been over that time now and was wondering how to unblock the calendar?

This is an automated process and will be available after the 12 hour window.  They do this to allow the guest and Airbnb to do the checking process needed for your Verification requirements.  If the guest does not update or provide the necessary information, Airbnb will release the hold.  Then your next guest can book.  We've all experienced this at some time and it does suck when someone wasn't fully "ready" and is holding up the works for a booking guest - especially one who looks more promising and has a longer need.

Hi Mark,

The 12 hour time period has lapsed and I rejected the first guy ''Barry'' when he first requested those dates. Now when I look on all reservations info Barrys name does not appear, not even to state that he was declined- however, apparently I must wait 12 hours for him to verify himself which has already passed.

When i look at his message in my inbox next to his name isnt ''declined'' which is the usual - it says ''checkpoint''.

Can you please advise on the above? It has been well over 24 hours now and there has been no movement to unblock my calendar

@Natasha28  If you pre-approved the first guest which would block your calendar for 24 hours, and it has been 24 hours, decline the first guest with an explanation that the time period has passed.  This should open your calendar for the second guest to book.

@Natasha28  I am afraid I don't have further advise except to contact Air BNB to get your calendar unblocked.  Meanwhile you can communicate with the second guest to keep them advised.

@Natasha28 - was the first guest that you "declined" Guillaume?  Meaning, you have two guests who request for the same weekend within a few minutes of each other and I'm trying to ascertain what transpired here.  What dates are you seeing blocked as well?

the he first guest I declined was Barry.

the dates blocked on my calendar are 3rd March - 5th March and have been since Thursday
