I'm hoping for the opinions of established hosts on whether it would be viable for me to list an existing property. It's a cute 2 bedroom 1 bath cottage. My concern is that it is on a farm highway, and there are times of day where it can be noisy. Farm semis use this route, and sometimes they use Jake breaks. And, though it's a good area, there is some street racing that happens, as well. It's enough that I don't enjoy being in my front yard, and sometimes it interrupts video calls if I'm in the front room. The cottage is walking distance (1/3 of a mile) to a very popular, seasonal drag strip that runs on weekends late spring to early fall (this could provide guests but for non car guests, some weekends they have funny cars and top fuel so it can be heard from the cottage), 5 minutes from an outlet shopping mall that's very popular, 10 minutes from a great state park; 20 minutes from a historic town, and the ocean or mountains are a day trip. The house itself was flipped 4 years ago, so it's in good condition.
I'd love your thoughts. I'm trying to determine if it's worth the investment of furnishing it out, or if I should just make it a long-term regular rental...
