WHY DOES AIRBNB LET SOMEONE WITH A TERRIBLE REVIEW KEEP ACCEPTING FORWARD BOOKINGS FOR THEM

WE JUST RECEIVED A BOOKING AT 5.01 TONIGHT THRU AIRBNB AND FOUND OUT AFTER WE RECEIVVED THE BOOKING THAT THEY WERE LOCAL

THEY COME AND CHECKED IN AND IT WAS FOR ONE PERSON AND THREE TURNED  UP - I CONTACTED THEM AND SHE SAID NO HER DAUGHTER MAY BE STAYING AND IT WAS HER PARTNER THAT COME WITH THEM.  I TOLD HER THAT ONCE I SAW THIS ON THE CAMERAS I READ THE REVIEWS  AND SAW THAT IT WAS TERRIBLE THEY COMPLETELY TRASHED THE LAST PLACE THEY WERE AT, DAMAGED BEDDING ETC, PUT TOMATO SAUCE ALROUND THE WALLS, SMOKED IN SIDE THE APARTMENT AND BURNT RUGS ETC AND THEN THEY LET THEM BOOK ANOTHER PLACE.  I AM SO ANNOYED AS WE LEARNT THIS AFTER WE ACCEPTED THE BOOKING.  I HAVE PHONED HER TO TELL HER THAT IT WAS ONLY BOOKED FOR HER AND NO ONE ELSE AND THAT IF THERE IS ANY NONSENCE WE WILL CALL THE POLICE DUE TO THE PAST REVIEWS ON THEM.  SHE HAS SAID NO THERE WILL NOT BE ANY PROBLEM AND IF THERE IS THEN WE WILL BE HOLDING AIRBNB RESPONSIBLE AS THEY KNEW THEY WERE FERILS AND STILL ACCEPTED THEM IN THEIR SYSTEM - TOTALLY WRONG I KNOW MONEY IS MONEY BUT WE ARE HERE AND HAVE TO PUT UP WITH ALL THE **bleep** THESE ……. CAUSE.

Is it your usual booking practice to check the reviews after a booking and not before accepting the booking?  If so, perhaps you could change that process to allow for greater control vetting guests.  Also, if you do elect Instant Booking, you can opt to require positive reviews.  Best not to count on Air BNB to be "held responsible" as most hosts feel that damage claims do not cover the real costs.

 

BTW, if you plan to continue posting on this public forum, please consider not using all caps as caps are experienced as shouting and is off-putting to many participants.   Good luck with your new Air BNB business!
