Hi all,
I set up a new listing alongside my original one and decided to try the new auto pricing functionality and accidentally set it up as Instant Book and was not happy with the price so had to cancel. I have obviously got an automatic cancel review on my profile and want to leave a response to explain the circumstances to reassure future guests that I have never and will never cancel reservations once accepted. This makes me look negative as a host and is unfair I feel. Thanks in advance for any help.
Leave a public review to the extent that the reservation was cancelled right after booking due to a glitch in the automatic pricing feature leaving an unrealistically low price. Also that you have now disabled this automatic pricing feature.
Can you comment on a cancellation? With the benefit of hindsight may have been better to just have taken that booking.
I've seen several examples on profiles where a comment was left on a cancellation statement in the reviews.
So unless Airbnb has changed this, it is pssible to leave a short explanation. You have to make sure you are on top of this yourself to stay within the time frame because I don't assume Airbnb will send you a notification as is the case with posted reviews.
And it's always better to set up new listings and try out functions before the listing goes live.
And yes, sometimes also better to suck it up and accept the booking.
