What do I do if my booking declined and I already paid?

I sent a booking request to a host, and paid the fees, however, the moment I didnt it the host declined my booking and messaged me it is no longer available.

How do I claim my money back?

Appreciate your response..

Thanks

Shani

@Shani8 Contact Airbnb and let them know that the host has cancelled yout reservation and that you would like to know when will the cash be transfered to your bank account. Remember that when you book a reservation the money you paid is held by Airbnb until 24hours after you checkin on the property. Airbnb phone number for Australia: +61 2 8520 3333. Good luck!!!

thanks so much @Oomesh-Kumarsingh0 for that. i really appreciate it.

have a great week

@Shani8 , if you had a valid reservation you would have gotten a booking confirmation from Airbnb, containing your reservation code, your itinerary and also a receipt for your payment. did you get that? If not, you don't have a confirmed reservation.

sounds to me like you made a booking request and the host declined, so it never got confirmed by Airbnb and thus you haven't paid for anything yet and no money was taken out of your account.

So What makes you think you "paid the fees"? The whole amount for the proposed stay?  Can you access your credit card statements online? does the amount you are worried about show up under "pending transactions"?  That would be another way to double check.

Thank you @Annette33. Yes, you are right. I have looked in my CC but I actually saw a different booking charge and I thought it has been declined from my account.

So all is goo dnow and thanks for the reply 🙂
