What's the catch with duplicated listings of the same whole places?

Sometimes I stumble upon duplicated listings of the same place. For example, https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/48832922 and https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/45877740 Now, I understand when double listings of the same places are justified, when for example someone is listing their place as the whole place, but then are trying to rent it out as separate rooms. However, I don't get when they have listed the same place as above (as the whole place) two times. Is it even allowed? If it is, then what's the justification to list your Airbnb place two or, for that matter, multiple times?

@Alan1263,

The host wants to rent the space as either a 3 bedroom or a 4 bedroom, with different occupancy limits.

@Alan1263 This is the only way a host can vary the number of bedrooms available. With 1 listing if they have a 2 bedroom place and charge for people above 2 then this doesn't preclude both bedrooms being used. It is a very good way of pricing a property competitively whilst reducing costs at the same time.
