When a Host needs support and AirBnb fails completely.

I had guests that vandalized my home. They drove motorcycles inside the house. They damaged items on the property. I tried to evolve Airbnb to help compensate for the damage. I presented irrefutable photos and price estimates of the job to recover the damage. But, unfortunately, Airbnb support only drove me around in loops. In the end, all I got was a “pending case number”, it still has no feedback or response, after 3 months from the event. How can we ever trust the “Airbnb Host Guarantee” like that?

@Joao293  Sorry to hear you had this destruction. You can't trust the Airbnb Host "Guarantee". It is all smoke and mirrors. Some hosts do eventually get paid, but not without a ton of time and energy being expended by the host. And then they will only get what Aairbnb considers "depreciated value".

It's crucial to have your own short term rental insurance.

In the old days, they were quite supportive of hosts, but those days are gone. You can really only consider them to be a listing platform and not rely on them for anything anymore.
