Which software should I use to manage my income?

Hi everyone!

My name is Faith and I am new to the airBNB community. I have just started managing an apartment building with six units in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica.

I am in the process of developing our business plan and wanted to ask other hosts how they tracked their expenses and revenue. Many people I've talked with suggested QuickBooks - any thoughts or tips on this?

Also, I have currently listed the apartments individually, but want to know if the apartment building is worth listing as a whole - to book larger parties. Does anyone with a similar property have knowledge on this?

Hi @Faith94 , the top two accounting systems today are Xero and Quickbooks Online. Some people use Wave accounting because it's free but it may not be enough depending on your needs. Quickbooks Online is the most popular system used in North America and has the most support in terms of accountants certified. There's also a tool that integrates Airbnb with Quickbooks Online for automatic importing of reservation income, look up BNBTALLY **This makes things a lot easier, and precise.

There are a few other options. Some people also use spreadsheets to track everything. However, if you have more than one listing, it's much better to have a well-supported system that will pull in your bank feeds automatically like Quickbooks Online.
