I have a queen size wall bed in the living room, and that counts as a bed. But a floor mattress, even though I put the count in, doesn't. So is Airbnb not counting anything but mattresses on a frame now?
you are right, I just did a test and added 1 airbed but the number of beds didn't increase.
Interestingly, I added one more single bed and number of beds increased (total 3 beds) but still listed for only 2 guests. Strange.
Only Brian Chesky is allowed to list an air mattress and have it count as a bed 🙂
Yes, I just confirmed with the help desk that air mattresses and floor mattresses no longer count as a bed in search. I wonder if this is why our reservations for 2 people have dropped off recently. We have an XL Twin spring mattress bed and a Twin air mattress for a 2nd guest when needed. This saves on space and cost when 2 beds aren't needed for our reservations. The air mattress does show up in the details, but it doesn't help when you have a guest specifying they need 2 beds. Our listing will not be included in the search results.
Amazing how quickly people forget their roots and the original source of their fortune once their pockets are bulging. An air mattress sure counted as a bed when Mr. Chesky started this ventire.
