I have updated my details, but I keep getting the same message, via text as well. I have been hosting for a few years now with the same account. Todays message said it was the last chance to add details. I can see airbnb have put in 3 cents to confirm but I am still owed past payments. And the text said the payments are paused. Deb
@Deb14,n
Because they want it. Just follow their instructions and don't think about the reason, it's a waste of time.
Best regards,

Hi @Deb14 🙂
Sometimes I get similar mails from pay pal. They are fake but they look very valid.
I would call airbnb ASAP and block any mails/text messages.
My experience is that if airbnb/pay pal want me to update something they ask me when I'm logged in at the account. They don't mail me about it.

Hi Deb... I recently have received the same email... still trying to figure if it is legit.
On airbnb info it says it will ask for this information only once (which I provided from the begininng), but here I am couple of years later and they are wanting bank account dets, legal name, DOB, address, photo ID etc
Can you add what happened when you were asked for it?
Thanks
Fiona
It is a scam delete!
Typically, Airbnb requires hosts to update their personal details - even though they may have provided the same info previously - shortly in advance of handing over current host data to the local authorities (revenue etc)
You may want to call Airbnb CX just to double-check that the communication you received is legit and if it is, your payouts definitely won't be reinstated until you provide them with the information they require.
