Why is my calendar blocked for 2 days ahead of my guest reservation

Prep time I understand by the day before my prep day is also blocked. Why is that?

It is possible to choose 1, 2 or none preparation days before a booking. Maybe you ticked the 2 day preparation box by accident?

Thanks for the comment. I chose 1 day prep before and after and 1 day advance notice. I don't see that there is a way to turn off advance notice so I just turned off the prep days. Hope that works.

@Deanna112 You should be able to change the advance notice just like you can change the prep time. It's under Booking Settings.

Advance notice doesn't really work in place of prep time. For instance, with 1 day advance notice, Guest A could book on the 10th to stay the night of the 12th. Guest B could also book on the 10th to stay the night of the 13th. So you wouldn't have any prep time between those reservations. 

Advance notice is a way for you to plan ahead rather than have people just book for the same day or the next day, or whatever. Prep  time blocks time between reservations so you have tme to clean, etc. Make sense?

And BTW, the way "Prep Time" is described is really confusing. Rather than saying "Block one day before and after a reservation", it should read "Block one day between reservations", because that is, in fact, what it does. Because the "day after" block can double up as a "day before" block for a following reservation.

I can't understand why your "1 day prep time" plus "1 day advance notice" would have blocked 2 days before a reservation, though. I also have one day prep time, and advance notice and it only ever blocks one day.

@Sarah977 it's just one of the few issues I'm having with AirBnb. It makes no sense. My guests have told me they wanted to book more nights but the nights were not available. My calender showed the nights were available but because of these settings I'm losing reservations.

@Deanna112  There have been many posts in the past few weeks here with hosts saying that dates which are available are appearing unavailable on the guests side. It's not just your account, and may have nothing to do with the advance notice or prep settings.
