I am in Houston, which is hosting the superbowl this year. I expect that prices for airbnb and hotels alike will be considerably higher that weekend. I thought that smart pricing would handle the upcoming event, but someone instant booked my place at the regular price, I spoke with him and he does not want to cancel but suggested that "Maybe we can work something out" Thoughts? Help?
You could go to Change or Cancel, choose Change, put in the new agreed price.
Smart pricing does not know of events unless others around you have upped their prices enough to change averages.
Much much better than cancelling, you will definitely get punished (and have your calendar blocked so nobody else can book either)
Sorry to hear this but it is your fault not your guests. You should honour the booking in my opinion.
Whatever you do, don't cancel or as one of the penalties your dates will be blocked by Airbnb anyway with no chance of re-booking.
