@Tilly3 As Susan says. While I only block my calendar for a month in July to take a holiday myself, I really only get bookings from late Oct.-mid-May, that's the tourist season here. I might get one booking in the off months. But I've managed to retain the Superhost status by getting anywhere from 10-15 bookings in each past year that the quarterly assessment is based on, so it hasn't been a problem. 10-15 bookings doesn't sound like many over 6 months or so, but I don't do back-to-backs and most of my guests average a week-2 weeks stay, so I'm glad they only require 10.
Now as I'm still open most of the off season for bookings, but just don't get any, I couldn't say for sure what would happen if I actually snoozed my listing for all that time. That in itself shouldn't affect Superhost, but you'll probably get annoying messages from Airbnb to unblock your calendar, which of course you can ignore, it's just a computer bot spitting those out.
I do find that when I don't get bookings for awhile, I go down in search ranking, so it's harder for guests to find my place- it's sort of a vicious circle. But they do manage to find it, and once I get a booking again, my ranking seems to go up.
