Willing to rent my new place, but I'm a tenant, how can I talk about it with my landlord?

Hi! I've been doing a lot of research about this "AirBnB" business and I got quite excited about it, I just moved to a  new place in a city with a very high demand during the whole year so it seems like a cool opportunity. HOWEVER, my excitement went down after reading a lot about the problems of renting the place when you are the tenant, and seeing so many bad cases both from tenants and landlords talking about legal issues. My situation is: I moved two weeks ago, my relationship with my landlord is just beginning, I just got to meet them once and we have not had much interaction, so I'm not sure if I should arise this topic now or wait some time until there's a deeper relationship with my landlord and they see how well I behave, but at the same time I feel I don't want to lose the opportunity now. What do you suggest me to do?

You could just ask how they feel about it as a possibility? It would have been better to have a sub-let clause in the contract, but if it isn;t there, just ask. All they can say is no.

What does your lease say? If it says no sub-letting then you can't withiout a new lease.

You could approach the landlord and ask them to change their mind - but why would they? You get additonal income, they get higher wear and tear on the property, plus the possiblity of damage, etc...
