@Louis103, they don't pay anything for the Security Deposit unless the host makes a claim and the claim is granted.

There is a lot of... vigorous discussion about the AirBnB Security Deposit on this discussion board that you can look for if you want.

But no, the guest doens't have to pay any part of the Security Deposit up front.
