airbnb now expect hosts to personalise mattress for guests

 

I have just had a guest check out early,  breaking a strict cancellation policy,  because they preferred  a softer mattress   ( this was after 12 days sleeping on Mattress)  

 

Airbnb  suggested we put a topper on bed for the guest.... The guest said that would not suit them so they were allowed to break cancellation policy and check out early.     We are hosting for 5 years and have never had an issue with any of our mattresses in our 4 units.  

 

Its seems now the guest is always right and even a $2000 mattress can not ensure your guest will be happy..     Please note our unit is a studio  

 

I am now very aware Airbnb can override your strict cancellation policy on a guest whim

Airbnb did not override your cancellation policy.

You did not have the strict cancellation policy. As you stated on your other post it was a 10 week booking.

Its automatically put on the long term cancellation policy, your guests have decided to leave and will have to pay for 30 nights.
