calendar is blocked due to a pending not being taken up by guest

a potential guest sent me a request for a special rate for a 6 week period. I accepted and responded with a rate and my understanding was that he had 24 hours to accept but in the meantime the calendar would still be free. It seems however that something is wrong as he did not accept but my calendar remains blocked. What is the remedy please?

Hello @Jeanette15.  Welcome to Air BNB!  I took a look at your calendar through December and did not see blocked dates.  What is the period of time you have pre-approved?

 

I do see you are awaiting your first guests and thus the reviews.  I wish you the most success.  I find reading many of the discussion threads on this forum very informative along with the Hosting articles in the Help Center.  I hope you will take advantage as new host mistakes can have some very difficult consequences.  Some new hosts have asked for feedback from the community regard their home page.  Most have been happy to get the feedback.

I think you need to contact airbnb and explain that the guest was only pre-approved and had not confirmed a booking with you.  6 weeks is a very long period to have your calendar blocked.  It may just be a glitch in the system which they will rectify once you bring it to their attention.

Thank you. This was possibly a timing issue, it was resolved without further delay.

I have a similiar problem. How do I contact AirBnB support? I always get routed to back Ask Community.

RE: Waterfront Apartment.

I had a request to stay by a lady named Rin who appied as a single guest and was quoted the minimum tarrif for her stay. She also said in her attached message that she would be accompanied by her partner and 2 friends. This attracts a higher tarrif which I explained in my response and told her to contact Airbnb and book with 4 guests and once done I would send her an 'Acceptance'.

She did not respond and Airbnb informed me that the time had expired to respond and the date is blocked in my calendar.

I would like my calendar unblocked and that I will not have my 100% response rating impacted because a potential guest has not reponded.
