Hi,
We are hosts, but are currently travelling in Sri Lanka, staying in a beautiful location in Weligama. The problem is we have been without running water for four days, have twice had to go and fetch from a borehole one kilometer away, the toilet cistern is broken (probably from not liking the way water has been added). We are in a small fishing village where no-one speaks much English, and the hosts live in France, and communication is not great.
We have really tried to be patient for three days now, but on the fourth it is growing untenable. We are booked here for another 9 days, and have no way of finding out how long the situation will persist. I tried to phone the waterboard, but no English. The water from the rain every night also runs into the electricity, and we are starting to feel dirty and unsafe.
The hosts seem great and it is a cool little spot, but there are flood conditions in the surrounding areas, and I just don't think this house should be rented out this time of year.
How should I go about getting out of here with some money. It is our holiday, and the budget is spent.
