commitment rate

My commitment rate is showing 87% and is keeping me from superhost status. When I joined Airbnb and other home rental sites, I synced my calendars, and had no problem until recently when a guests booking conflicted with a booking from another site, unfortunately I was forced to cancel the airbnb booking and help the gentleman find another house to rent. I feel as if I am being unfairly penelized, since the calander sync worked in the past and is working now... Any remedy for this?

This is also an issue because it blocks your calendar until the guest decides to cancel even a request for specific dates. If the host cancels, it is reflected negatively for the hosts commitment rate calculation.

Does the system reset next year or does it remain for the life of the account?
