My last guests broke into the private areas of my home.
My bedroom, bathroom, and office were all entered. This put confidential client documents at risk.
Someone slept in my bedroom! These doors are ALWAYS locked. The creepy part? They relocked them before they left. I'm steamed to say the least! Can I sue them?
I'm just here for support. I'm sorry for you, that would make me feel VERY violated. So I certainly understand your anger. I can't see how you could sue unless you had it on camera or someone did forensics. Make sure you still have evreything, and nothing is missing. I would notify airbnb because that is way over the line. And I'm a guy that can swallow a lot!
I would contact BnB resolution straight away. I presume you must have evidence to show your room was slept in and the locked rooms entered.
One part I was slightly confused about how could they relock the locked doors - apart from with a key?
Hopefully BnB will ban them from the system. Pending this (and presuming you can prove they broke in/used your rooms) you can mention this in your guest review.
Hi Helen, the door knobs have privacy locks, they lock by pushing in and twisting.
Hi Dawn, they must have found something thin enough and long enough to spring the knob lock. These are simply push and turn locks, I never expected a guest to challenge them.
