Hi Jenny, I have read your reviews of your guests but can't find the wet towel remark? I think that if a guest uses whatever towels left out for them, there is nothing to be said. Otherwise, the towels shouldn't be there.
I used to leave exactly what I felt was the right amount, now I leave an extra few. If someone feels the need for plenty, they can have it. Most guests are conservative. Some might have long thick hair for instance, lots of water to squeeze out in an extra towel.
It is unlikely (they are not overly keen to change reviews unless it contravenes their policy) but you can contact Airbnb through twitter and give it a try. Good luck

Hi Sandra and thanks for your help. The review was written about the stay booked by Marianne October 10-20, I said "Booking was for Marianne's daughter for a period of 10 days. The flat was left generally clean but the laundry hamper was filled with 10 days of wet towels, some of which had developed mould spots. The airer was left out - that could have been used to at least dry them out. We had offered to have the flat cleaned half way through the stay but that was declined. The Ironing board was left out There was unused food left on the kitchen shelf. A bit disappointing."
I thought long and hard before I posted that review and I still gave the client's daughter 4 stars - I thought it was a fair assesment. I always suggest to guests who book longer stays that the cleaner should come in half way through (no charge) but Marianne was adamant that was not required. Marianne has contacted me directly today and said that she would like the review taken down. I have agreed that, as I personally did not see the towels ( The cleaner said the daughter must have used every towel in flat) that I would modify the review - but apparently I cant?? Regards Jenny xxx
You can't take it down - BNB makes this clear, so ideally you shouln't have offered to do this with the guest until you had checked out it was possible.
I am sure your cleaner had no reason to lie to you, so why alter the review.
Just make it clear in your house manual that damp towels should be dry before being put away.

You're right of course - I should have checked whether I could amend te review prior to making the offer, adn I agree with my cleaner who Ive used for many years so I know she would not have commented unless it annoyed her. I guess I presumed, as a host I would have more control over what I posted.
Ah well, another tick on the learning curve!
regards Jenny
Hi Jenny again,
10 days is in my opinion too long not to do a midstay clean, I would absolutely go and do a quick vac, bathroom, laundry. Offer to go when guests are present if they are worried. Should take 30 mins, and means no chance of a build up. If you leave less towels out, in order to get more towels someone has to visit. All the best with future hosting.
Hi I've just had lovely guests leave a great overall review (5-stars) but he put 4 stars for cleanliness. So that we can learn, I asked him where we needed to improve and he was mortified "I'm so sorry, I never meant that! How can I change it?" Is it possible for a guest to amend a rating just after it's been posted? I think it was a genuine mistake. Any suggestions? Many thanks.
