if I have not heard back from guests despite several attempts asking ETA what shall I do

I have no idea when they are arriving

Have you attempted to contact the guest via their phone number? If so, you can contact CS and request that they attempt t contact your guest. CS will advise you from there. Best of success!

This happened to me once; the guests were new to ABB and could not access their account. They were lovely guests!

we are off-site hosts and have to check in all our guests personally so we need to know their exact time of arrival. It is written in our house rules, prebooking questions and our first message to the guest. But some guests overlook it or ignore it or just forget to let us know. Then we:

  1. send them another message day or two before check-in
  2. sending them an email and SMS
  3. try to call them the day of their arrival

If they still don't answer we send them the following message: " Dear XX, it seems we still don't have your exact time of arrival but no problem - you can call us when you arrive at the location and we will do our best to come and meet you within 1 hour.  Please note there is no self-check in option, street parking is limited and costs 2€ /hour. Have a nice trip and see you soon 🙂 "

 

You would be surprised how quickly they respond when they realize they could be left on the street for an hour 🙂
