problems with email as a host

when I try to email a guest using the email adress assigned by airbnb when he/she made the booking (and I do this via my email browser - Mozilla Thunderbird so I can attach a file with arrival directions) - the message doesn't show on the message history and I suspect is not received by my guests. Anyone had this or can suggest a solution?

Copy and past the directions in the message you send to the guest from the message center.  Such as:

Check in time is no earlier than 3pm. Gives me 3 hrs. to clean the treehouse.

Directions to the Treehouse.

Find Highway 97 to the SOUTH side of Bend OR.

The treehouse is 2.4 Miles from Highway 97
5 min. without traffic.

Get off on Knott Rd/Baker Road off ramp.

Head northwest on Baker Road toward the rail road tracks.
Go 148 ft

Continue on Baker Rd OVER THE RAIL ROAD TRACKS

Etc. Etc.
