I've received my worst rating so far and Superhost badge in the past 12 hours. Guest gave 4/5 for cleanliness because there was a dirty spoon in the drawer (further understanding on this received through private messaging). 5/5 for everything else except Overall Experience, here she gave 3/5. I wanted further feedback as the it didn't weigh up. She said she didn't give 3/5 and it must be an airbnb mistake. Obviously I would like to respond to this publicly for other guests, any advice on how to clarify this in a response to the review?
@Mary1605 It's disappointing to get a low rating, but I'm not sure responding to her review is worth it & may put some guests off booking. Potential guests can't see what past guests rated you & by responding you are highlighting one 3 star review out of many 5 star ones.
@Rachel177 Yeah, thanks, I think reading these comments it would make sense to let it go and move on. It did appear genuine that she didn't realise that 3 star overall rating had been given. Any kind of public response will only put me in a bad light and deter folk from booking in future. Thank you for your time.
@Mary1605 that is an excuse most of the times, the guests mean to give the review they give but when confronted they seem to back down because they don't have a specific reason for that. It is easier to just say it was a mistake. I also wouldn't respond, if you say "she wanted to give me 5* but made a. mistake and gave me 3*" it only sounds like a fake excuse. How will future guests know if that was really the case. You have great reviews, don't point out the bad one.
@Ana1136 Thanks Ana, I think having read comments, I won't be responding after all. The guest did appear genuine that she hadn't meant to give a 3 star overall. Oh well, time to move on and fingers crossed I don't have to endure this in future ratings. Thank you for your time.
