reserved 2 weeks. Can I cancel the half after checked in?

I am planning to stay for 2 weeks at same house.

It's my first time with airbnb. The cancellation policy of this place is

Moderate  100% refundable

Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 5 days of your trip and the first night is non-refundable, but 50% of the cost for the remaining nights will be refunded.

This means, after I checked in, if I see a major problem I must stay for 5 days but after that, I can cancel (with refund) the rest subject to immidiate notification of intent to cancel the remaining portion of the night?

The cancellation policy is really strict compared to the hotel and I am very concerned that I ended up staying the dirty scarly house.

Do not worry! No cancellation policy forces any guest to remain in a property that is not as described, or unlivable due to excessive dirt or noise or whatever.

But remember

, no host wants to lose a guest halfway through a booking, especially when the likelihood is the it would be impossible to get a last minute booking to replace - so most hosts want you to be happy and will accommodate your needs and any requests you might have.

And if you did need to make a change, speak to your hosts first, then go to the Resolution Center and click on listing not as described and ask for a refund.

But I am sure it won't come to that so enjoy!

@Rachael26 I completely agree. Talk to the host first. While you can most definitely cancel, most people are reasonable and perhaps you can find a middle ground. If I was that host I would certainly want to know if there was something I could rectify. @Amy-Tomo0
