HELP!
I am a property manager and manage a small portfolio of owner properties in Nice France . I received the email from Airbnb about confirming french tax details. I wasn't worried at first as I have added all my owner local registration details. All money for individual apartments goes directly to the owner as I have attached all details. ( I have all the apartments listed under my property management platform. However I now realised from this email that airbnb will give my tax details to the French tax people - even though the money goes directly into each owners account. I invoice owners and pay my taxes but the idea of this terrifies me as on the system it will look like I am earning this money at first glance and I really don't want the stress of an audit - what are other hosts doing in this situation?
Did you ever receive an answer to this? I’m I need the same situation and am wondering what to do.
@Chill-Nice0 @Karen2368 not as professional as you are, but I have assisted my neighbours renting their holiday home. I have taken down the listing from airbnb as everything that is listed under my account will be reported to the French tax authorities as my income even though the payments are routed into their bank account. I am not even sure the tax authrities would approve of this method as it is a way of bending the rules.
One solution would be for each of your clients to create an airbnb account and a listing for their property and for you to act as a co-host. Personally, I have not bothered doing this as the majority of my bookings come through a different platform anyway.
