Today I received a summons to appear in DC court and complaint for "discriminating towards children" because we checked a box in airbnb's site "not suitable for infants (under 2 years)" . Anyone else receive this? Can someone from Airbnb contact us please to assist with responding? Thank you
I tried to contact you but I believe my messages to you are now filtered.
Will try other ways to speak to you.
Thanks,
Maria
Yes, yes , yes....good job. Bring the heat back on them. I can serve families but I'm not able to have wheel chairs etc. so I've checked no....that's prob on their hit list next
Wow. Interesting source of revenue.
Checking 'not suitable for pets' - is that a potential pending lawsuit on the basis of discrimination against pets?
'not suitable for children under 12' - discrimination against those who are not yet 13?
Does that mean that movie etc censors and the organisations they work for discriminate against under 17s, under 19s etc.
Does it mean that bars with a required by law restriction on age are also on the potential lawsuit radar?
Is this just an american thing?
Unfortunately yes, it is an American thing, it's why Dr visits are expensive, they have to pay thousands of dollars for insurance for malpractice just in case. The sense of entitlement is raging, it might not affect me, but I'll still sue the pants off you. In Southern Alabama every other commercial and billboard is for lawyers bragging they will get you the big bucks for your wreck etc. so overwhelming . I've checked our homeowners insurance over and over again. To make sure we are covered for any problems.
Unusual for Homeowners Insurance to cover short term rentals, who do you use?
Interesting and uncomfortable. I can guess that the address was found online, there are ways.
You can pay a clerk minimum wage to sit and go thru our profiles one by one...not hard just time consuming
Are they only targeting home owners or is everybody in their sights including third party renters, the reason I ask, if for example the people involved in the suits were only targeting third party renter then one could regard it as a conspiracy.
Will you have to hire a lawyer?
