What is the best way to respond on the site if someone has asked whether you have availability and then when i responded they said they have decided not to travel this way. Do I just decline their request now or does that reflect negatively on me as a host? Or is the dismiss button the right one to select? Thanks for advice!

Tessa this can happen, usually you don't need to do anything as it was just an enquiry

You don't need to 'dismiss' or 'decline' and it doesn't affect your rating.

what will be rated is your response time and committment to responding and it sounds like you did both!
