what if something gets stolen and I want to cancel the remainder of my long term?

I was out of town to attend a funeral during my long term stay.  When I returned something valuable that I hid well underneath clothes in my closet went missing.

The next day I decided to leave the airbnb.

I requested a refund from my host, but she denied a refund.

I am no longer staying there because of this incident.  I was forced to find a new residence and cannot stay here since I cannot keep my things here safely.

How do I get refunded for the remaining time?

the host will not cooperate.

Call Airbnb on their urgent support line to inform them of the situation and make it clear that you no longer feel safe staying with that host. They will mediate for you and hopefully resolve things on your behalf.
