Here are some practical, Ghana-specific Airbnb hosting tips to help you get more bookings, avoid problems, and deliver a great guest experience. These are based on the realities of hosting in Ghana (power, water, security, internet, guest expectations, local regulations, etc.).

🇬🇭 1. POWER & WATER ARE YOUR BIGGEST PRIORITIES

Ghanaian guests and especially foreign tourists expect reliability.

✔️ Provide solutions for power outages:

• UPS for Wi-Fi

• Rechargeable bulbs

• Rechargeable fans

• Power bank available for guests

• If possible: small generator or inverter system — this increases bookings drastically.

✔️ Water supply stability:

• Ensure overhead polytanks are full

• Quick access to a plumber

• Provide buckets as backup (discreetly stored)

This reduces complaints more than anything else.

🌐 2. High-Speed Internet Is a Top Selling Point

Most guests will ask about this.

Best providers for Airbnb locations:

• MTN Fibre (top choice)

• Vodafone Fibre

• For areas without fibre: MTN TurboNet or AirtelTigo router

Make sure:

• Router is placed centrally

• Wi-Fi password is clearly printed and visible

• Test speed regularly

🔐 3. Security Measures Matter

Ghana is relatively safe but guests want reassurance.

Add:

• Secure door locks

• Burglar-proof windows (but ensure escape routes)

• Outdoor camera facing gate (not inside the property)

• Well-lit compound

• Security contact saved on speed dial

Avoid cameras inside the house — this violates Airbnb rules.
