AIRBNB legal status in India Mumbai. How to make our home stay compliant.

We own 4bhk appartment in south mumbai. Large one by south mumbai standards. We started hosting on AIRBNB from last few months. Initially our co-operative society members were curious but neutral. However they have become more probing and skeptical recently with foreigner guests coming and staying at our place. As per them we can keep long-term guests at our place, but short term stay is not allowed. We need to have municipal clearence for the same.

They raised this as a high risk concern in the society general body meeting today asking us to stop this activity with immediate effect.

Kindly request community help here, on the steps we can take to safeguard ourselves and continue with hosting guests.

Please approach PSI of local polive station & discuss with him about your concept to continue it in legal way.

Society cant stop you for doing so,unless its mentiones in byelaws
